We care about where (and how) our products are created. We live in a time where fast fashion dominates the industry. Minimal costs to customers are generated at the expense of the conditions and wages of factory workers. At Cruel World Apparel, we seek to challenge these unjust standards. We only source apparel from high quality, ethical, sweatshop-free factories. We believe in supporting ethical practices and fair wages and working conditions so that customers can make conscious decisions.
So who makes our apparel? We source from a variety of clothing manufactures.
Bella + Canvas makes most of our apparel-- including all of our men's t-shirts, unisex t-shirts, women's t-shirts, and unisex tank tops. Bella + Canvas' US production and office facilities have received Platinum accreditation from the Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP), which carries high standards for human resources management, health and safety standards, environmental and eco-friendly practices, and legal compliance including import and export customs. You can learn more about Bella + Canvas' practices here.
Tultex Apparel makes all of our raglan long-sleeve shirts, which is made from 100% USA ring-spun cotton and with a modern color blocking look. Tultex manufactures all of their apparel from a single factory in North America from spinning through finished garments. You can read more about Tultex Apparel here.
Next Level Apparel makes all of our women's tank tops and girls' t-shirts. Like Bella + Canvas, Next Level manufactures only in Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production-certified factories. In addition to being sweatshop-free and child labor-free, Next Level also has high standards for social responsibility, which you can read more about here.
LA Apparel makes all of our tote bags. As their name suggests, LA Apparel produces their apparel and accessories in Los Angeles. They're new and are run by many of the same folks who founded American Apparel. You can learn more about LA Apparel here. Yupoong makes our dad hats. Yupoong (Flexfit handles their U.S. distribution) has high standards both for their treatment of factory workers as well as their environmental impact, which you can read about here. Otto Cap makes our snapback hats internationally, which you can read about here.
LAT Apparel makes all of our baby apparel. All LAT Apparel is produced ethically in their socially-compliant WRAP-certified (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) factories that are sweatshop-free and child labor-free.
Where are our products printed? It depends on where they're ordered. We fulfill orders through Printful (which you can read about here). They have print and fulfillment centers in three locations-- Los Angeles, California, Charlotte, North Carolina and Riga, Latvia. If you order from anywhere in North America (which accounts for about 99 percent of our orders), your products will be printed, processed and shipped from Los Angeles or Charlotte.
